Truck champion takes on BTCC challenge
Oliver wins race two of the British Truck Racing Championship
Seven-time British Truck Racing Champion Stuart Oliver took his first victory of 2008 in this afternoon's second Class A race.
Oliver defended strong competition from Chris Levett to take the chequered flag. However, the Hexham-based driver has only cleared the first hurdle of the motorsport challenge ahead this season, as Stuart will be returning to Brands Hatch next week to start his first ever season in the British Touring Car Championship!
In just five days, Stuart will compete for BTC Racing in the British Touring Car Championship opening round, alongside Cheshire driver Chris Stockton. "It is a great opportunity to be involved in a team that has good potential going forward in the BTCC," said Stuart regarding his plan to contest both trucks and touring cars. "I am looking forward to working alongside Chris and the established team and hope that my experience in the British and European Truck Racing Championships will bring some development opportunities for the team."
Oliver and Levett finished this afternoon's British truck race ahead of David Jenkins in third place.
